Not so long ago Google updated it’s favicon, now it changed the favicon again. To be honest, I personally like the old favicon. It was simple and neat. The new favicon looks ugly. What do you think?

Have you learnt or read about Search Engine Optimization before? If so, you should already know that Google is the search engine everyone most wanted to be listed on the first page. There does exist hundreds of other search engines in the web like major search engines as Yahoo! or MSN, why does Google get the most attention compared to another search engines?

Well, the first reason is that Google drives about 70% web traffic to pages and sites because most of people use Google as their search engine. I have a web statistic script in my website control panel and according to the report stat, search engines traffics on my website are originated from Google with percentage of 70 to 80%. So, why bother optimizing for another search engine when most of the traffic came from Google?

Secondly, search engines tend to seek informations as Google does it’s job. If you optimize your website to be well read and ranked by Google, your website will be just OK for another search engines. You’ll kill two or more birds with just one single shot.

The next thing is that Google also provides search results to other partner search engines and directories. Some minor search engines use Google search result in providing web surfer with search results or directories. If you are ranked well in Google, you’ll never have to optimize for those other search engines.
